Solid Carbide Router Bits
Very good tool life (up to 20 times longer than steel), moderate to high initial cost, good durability, very good for long router bit runs, usually run on an automatic feed machine like a CNC Router to prevent tool breakage. Limited profile selection, usually used as spiral bits for high speed CNC Machining. Disadvantage to Solid Carbide Router Bits is that they are brittle and subject to breaking or chipping. Many spiral router bits are not safe to on hand feed routers, please consult the maker of the specific router bit to determine if it is correct for your specific application.
